To find the location of books,
which were published before 1987
(before 1996 about Chinese or Russian books) and
the books in some non-alphabetical languages.

●Union Card Catalog
(Central Library 2F)

The Union Card Catalog allows access to the following books.

Books received before March 1987.
Books in Chinese or Russian which were received before March 1996.
Books in some non-alphabetical languages.

Attention: You should search Nagoya University Library OPAC, too. Because libraries has received books which are published before 1987, after April 1987, too.
To find the location of books,
which were published after 1987
(after 1996 about Chinese or Russian books).

●Nagoya University Library OPAC

Nagoya University Library OPAC allows access to the following materials.

Books received after April 1987 with some exceptions.
Books in Chinese or Russian which were received after April 1996.
Some books received before March 1987.
Attention
You can not search books in some non-alphabetical languages by Nagoya University Library OPAC.
Please check the Union Card Catalog.

Central Library and Other Department Libraries
You can borrow books from other department libraries.：Library Clickable Map

Nacsis Webcat is offered by the National Institute of Informatics NACSIS Webcat (Union Catalog) You can search bibliographical datails and holding libraries. You can search bibliographical datails and holding libraries.

The National Institute of Informatics offers many other services too.

For example, Directory of Research Activities and Resources, Academic Society Home Villedge, Information Retrieval Services, Electronic Library Service

If you need other university library materials,
you may use Inter-Library Cooperation.

NACSIS Webcat is not able to search National Diet Library, public libraries and many specialized libraries.

You have to search by library.

●Inter-Library Cooperation
When you do not find required materials at Nagoya University, there are two methods to obtain them.

1. You can use Inter-Libray Loan and Photocopies.
2. You can go to other university library directly.
In either case, you have to review carefully Inter-Library Cooperation. And apply.

You can request learning books in Central library too.

2. After the material have been bought it will be held at the Central Library.

●National Diet Library

NDL OPAC
Coverage of catalogs expanded and the Japanese Periodicals Index is searchable now. Until March 2003, the present Web-OPAC continues to be available also. Other materials are able to search by reference books.

●Institute of Developing Economies

IDE Library OPAC
IDE Library includes books and magazines concerning third world countries.
We cannot borrow books by IDE Library. But we are able to request photocopies.

●Japan International Cooperation Agency Library ：JICA Library

JICA Library Searching system : STACK
JICA Library includes JICA's reports and books related to development.
Some public libraries are able to apply inter-library cooperation too.

BLDSC is a worldwide leading document provider.
You can obtain photocopies within about 2 weeks from the British Library Document Supply Center.
The charge is 1305 yens per case. (December, 2001)
International Inter-Library loan (ILL)
ILL is a service that obtains materials from foreign libraries when they are not available in Japan.

1. Before filling out an ILL request form. Please make sure the item is no available in Japan.
2. Fill out the "Application for International Inter-Library Cooperation" on the library counter.
You can obtain photocopies within about two weeks from the BLDSC.
It may take up from several months to one year to receive items (photocopies) requested from libraries in other countries.
The method of payment varies according to the library.
